How to tell in thirty seconds whether a new io game is dead

The single hardest problem in this genre is population, not code. A new io game with an empty arena is indistinguishable from a broken one, and most of them fill the gap with bots rather than admit it. Four things that tell you more than the number does:

• Do names repeat between runs? A real population turns over. The same six names across three games means a small bot pool.
• Does anything die that you did not kill? Bots that never lose are the easiest tell of all, and the most common.
• Does the arena react to you? Real players chase an easy kill and avoid a big one. Something that ignores you entirely is following a path.
• Is there a leaderboard you can actually reach? If the top score is a hundred times anything you see on screen, it is not from this server.
